Our Governors

Our Governing body are a a group of people who volunteer their time to support the strategic running of the nursery.  They have three core functions as part of their role:

• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
• Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its children, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff
• Overseeing financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent

They also consider the well-being of our children and staff.

Instrument of Governors

The instrument of our governing body is as follows:

• 4 Co-opted governors 
• 1 LA governor
• 3 Parent governors 
• 1 Staff governor
• 1 Headteacher

Total number of governors: 10

In addition, we also have 3 associate governor members.

We have a varied mix of professional backgrounds, bringing different skillsets to the table. We work well together, ensuring there is constructive debate with all points of view recognised and respected - allowing us to reach a balanced and fair viewpoint, reflective of our community.  (Governor Survey 2023)

• There are 6 full governing body meetings each year
• Governors review policies on a rolling programme
• There is at least one full governor training session a year
• Governors visit the nursery once a term as a whole board and then arrange visits dependent on their linked responsibility
