Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future
At Weston Way Nursery School, we believe that nurturing a love and respect for our natural world is essential in shaping the future for our children. Sustainability is at the heart of our ethos, reflecting our vision of a ‘Home from Home’ where children feel safe, engaged, and inspired to explore a world of possibilities.

Why Sustainability Matters
Sustainability is about making thoughtful choices today to protect and preserve the environment for generations to come. By understanding the impact of our actions on the planet, we empower our children and families to become responsible global citizens who care deeply about the world around them. Learning about nature, climate change, and sustainable living helps children and families build strong foundations for their future.
Our Message to Families and Community
We invite all families and members of our community to join us in making considerate choices that support a healthier planet. From reducing waste and conserving energy to embracing outdoor learning through Forest School and gardening activities, every small step counts. Together, we can create magical moments that inspire lifelong respect for the environment and ensure a sustainable, thriving world for our children to grow in.
Our Climate Action Plan
At Weston Way Nursery School, we are proud to be actively contributing to the national drive for sustainability through our Climate Action Plan. In partnership with Let's Go Zero and as part of the Department for Education’s (DfE) initiative, we have undertaken detailed data collection to understand our environmental impact more clearly. This evidence-based approach allows us to identify key areas for improvement and implement targeted actions that reduce our carbon footprint, enhance biodiversity, and promote sustainability throughout our nursery community. By embedding these practises into our daily routines and curriculum, we empower our children to be informed, responsible global citizens who are ready to take positive action for the planet.
